Hallgrímuri kirik asukohas Reykjavík

Hallgrímuri kirik (islandi keeles Hallgrímskirkja) on Islandi suurim kirik, mis asub pealinnas Reykjavíkis. 74,5 meetri kõrgusena on see samuti saareriigi üks kõrgeimaid ehitisi. Kirik on nimetatud islandi luuletaja ja vaimuliku Hallgrímur Péturssoni (1614–1674) järgi, kes pani kirja Kirgsalmid. Sakraalhoone arhitekt oli Guðjón Samúelsson.

Kirikut hakati tarindama pärast Teist maailmasõda ning see valmis üle neljakümne aasta hiljem 1986. aastal.

Free to enter if service is not in progress. It cost 1000 ISK to take the elevator to the top of the tower for stunning views of the city.

Its architecture is extraordinary, 78 meters high but not that impressive. Inside there is a huge organ, (5275 pipes) . When you are already in reykjavik go and see.
