The Karelian National Song and Dance Ensemble “Kantele” presents large-scale musical and dance performance “Karsikko – the tree of music”.
In ancient beliefs of Karelians existed a custom of ritual cutting tree branches forming a karsikko tree, which became a symbol of important events in people’s life. Creators of the program “Karsikko – the tree of music”, relying on musical and dancing folklore of karelians, vepses and finns embody the idea of continuity of modern musical art with early culture.
