Fotod Shirakawa, Gifu (village)

Moss covered shrine, autor JapanDave

This isn't the main shrine, but I believe a secondary one on the same grounds. I forget the name, but it is the main shrine in Shirakawa-go, a very cool village that everyone should go to at least once. I made three versions of this pic, one very realistic, one with effects turned up so much it looked like something you might see on a bad acid trip (not that I would know...), and this one which is kind of in-between. A few friends voted and the in-between one won, so that's what you see. The ghostly woman looking at it was an interesting side-effect of making the hdr image. I thought about editing her out, but decided to leave her in.
