Mulberry Harbour at Gold Beach, Arromanches, autor Cross Duck
The remains of a floating pontoon roadway used to land troops, vehicles and equipment in the Normandy Landings after D Day in 1944. It was part of the 'Mulberry Harbour'. The remains of the sunken concrete phoenix caissons that formed an artificial breakwater can be seen in the distance.
